It is 1984. The era ‘greed
is good', material gain and ostentatious wealth is in full
swing. Money talks, and everyone whose
anyone will do just about anything to get a piece of the
action.
Just Desserts! began
as a little bakery thirty years ago, and has grown by leaps and
bounds. They now have 30 different branches all over the
country and the owner, TJ Ruby, is now a multi-millionaire.
With a house on the beach as well
as a weekend retreat in the mountains, his family has been able
to experience the finer things in life. Yes, this poor farmer's
son has really built an empire to be proud of.
It was a shock to everyone when he
collapsed in his home office at the tender age of 52. A fatal
heart attack was the culprit due in no small part to his
insistence on testing every product sold from each of his
thirty bakeries. Now his friends and family are together once
again in his beach front home, for the reading of his will.
This dysfunctional family has had its quibbles,
and this is going to be a trying time for everyone. Will they
be able to stop bickering long enough to find out who is due to
inherit what? But there is more than the distribution of
several million bucks at stake here today. The discovery of the
body of Lynn Oster, TJ's live-in girlfriend, on the ground
below her second floor bedroom balcony makes everyone a suspect…
